Proliferating (cats) mint - decoration for the eye

As anyone knows, who also has this plant in the garden, it spreads quickly and can be annoying. There is already a tip on how to prevent the proliferation by using root barriers by pots, etc.

But before you go to the action and want to contain the whole, so a lot has to be torn out and disposed of - Neighbors and relatives are probably already well looked after - now they have the same problem, but they also have neighbors ...

So get away with it - but then please do not throw everything away, but tear out especially beautiful outgrowths with roots (do not take too long branches, quantity: which roughly fits in one hand when tearing), rinse the soil and place it in a suitable glass filled with water! Vase (lets light to the roots). The water should of course cover the roots, so refill again and again. In this vase the plants stay forever - they also grow without soil, are now limited only to the size of the vase and the root system is becoming denser (nice to watch). Stalks that become too long occasionally cut back to the remaining height.

For me are 3-4 such fragrant "water plants" (in different sizes, glasses fill tightly with mint!) In the conservatory, one directly to the balcony door to the living room - they should repel mosquitoes, so rub again and again on the leaves and also enjoy the wonderful smell. Put inside the sunniest place and regularly fill up the water depot!

By the way: The glass vase remains to look always nice and clean, if you move the plants up and down on some stronger branches. It's best if the root system already fills the entire vase, so they are well equipped with plants!
