Protect the bike from rust

Good wheels are not cheap and should last for a few years even if they are used a lot. Many people have been harmed by rust on important, safety-relevant parts.

"Bicycle cleaning" is not my favorite activity, but if I get through it 1-2 times a year, I'll do it right:

Turn the wheel over (on the saddle / handlebar) and clean it with a damp, not wet (!) Cloth, also with a long, bent radiator brush under the mudguards. After brushing on a clean cotton rag, apply a little VASELINE and apply thinly to all chrome and stainless steel parts.

This protective layer prevents rust from settling and the dirt can be easily removed during the next brushing.

Another tip: rusty spots can also be removed with the rough side of a rinsing sponge, then petroleum jelly, - rub vigorously, then clean normally, then lightly grease afterwards, as described above.

Have fun on the next bike ride!
