Protect the pressure door from the bedside table against impact with the floor
In our bedroom are only white Swedish furniture, but none of the bedside tables would like to say so. I like furniture without handles, which you open by pressing.
The problem
There are some choices, but they are intended as lying bedside tables. First of all, the door has to open on the bed with such a lying piece of furniture because otherwise you will not be able to reach it from the bed. Otherwise that would be meaningless. When the door opens, it hits the floor with a loud bang.
The idea
The idea is to secure the door with a fishing line before breaking through. This is inexpensive, relatively quick to install, and looks good even if you're into the minimalist style so you can barely see it. One secures the bed-distant side, so that one has close to bed freedom to the Kramen.
What do you need?
- fishing line
- 2 screws
- screwdriver
I have used high quality soft fishing line with 73 kg tensile strength. The door therefore springs and is easily loaded. The purchase of good fishing line is worthwhile. You can do so many things with it. More tips follow.
How do you do it?
Screw in the screws and wrap with fishing line below the head to the desired extent, perhaps knot a loop beforehand, then tighten the screws.
difficulty level
3 out of 10 = easy but fiddly.
It may be that the fishing line does not immediately attract on the first try. Patience. It is worth it ..
