Protect washing machine from horsehair

Every year, our beloved pets throw off their thick winter fur. Who besides, like me, horses entertaining, may have had the unpleasant experience that these darn hairs are suddenly everywhere. Hair in the mouth, hair in the nose, hair in the sweater, hair in underwear, etc ...

Underwear? Yes, very well, there was a time when I was completely at a loss as I can wash my horses hair-spiked clothes at this time, without my washing machine with these hair, which in turn vaccinated the subsequent washes with the hair of my horses. Annoying also the constant cleaning of the lint filter. My husband also called this time the season of piquing panties. :(

In my survey of fellow sufferers, I often heard: "Since do not come against, put the things in the cleaning, or get you a second washing machine!" or: "Go to the neighbor, and say your machine is broken and you had to wash something urgently, then sell house and pull very far away!"

Well, the big heavy horse blankets in the cleaning, is okay, but all the trivia? No not really. Even a second washing machine is indisputable because of acute lack of space. I like my neighbors and my home too, so I can not.

But over time I got smarter and my mind told me, "If I do not want hair in the washing machine, then no one should be allowed in there!" Logically, right?

Here are a few tips to help with this spring plague:

Wear smooth clothes. If you want to put on your favorite pullover or shirt, pull on a large, smooth cotton shirt (smock replacement) while brushing. If you have forgotten this, then be sure to note point 5.

Protect car seats with old sheets, towels, blankets or similar. Of course, even for car seats available seat covers, but does not have to be. (Note side airbags, if available, do not deactivate)

Keep the old duvet cover with zipper in the trunk, if something needs to be taken for washing, because saddle cloths, straps and the like can be transported in it, without spoiling the trunk. Furthermore, the things are stuffed together with the reference later in the washing machine.

Wait until the weather is good for things to dry in the garden or on the balcony. (With dryer experience I can not serve, I do not own something)

Only after washing, take the horses outdoors in the open. Shake and let dry. Uhh ... maybe to make windows or patio door, otherwise the hair could be blown into the house. After drying, shake vigorously again and if you want, you can go over it again with the vacuum cleaner or otherwise depilate (see also next point)

Remove normal clothing before washing. Vacuum cleaner works, but was always too expensive for me. The best and fastest are these adhesive scooters. Were always empty for me and I forgot to constantly get replacement roles.

Meanwhile I use Malerkrepp. I wrap it up a few rounds, with the glue surface up, around my hand, and so dehair my clothes. Things can now be washed with normal laundry.

Sure, points 3 and 4 are also valid for the rest of the year, but especially now.

With the help of Malerkrepp I meanwhile remove all my clothes, not only those who are contaminated with the horse or cat's hair, but also the thread and fabric salad on my sewing machine, which is just like that when working there.

The painter's crepe is cheap, available in every hardware store and a role is always very long with me.
