Pull out the stuck sink plug

Externally operable washbasins (with levers), which lift up the plug and make it so stowable, involve the risk that the plug will remain in the washbasin tube if it is not properly adjusted. How do you get it out again?

Take a strong adhesive tape about the diameter of the plug and stick it on the plug. The ends of the tape should face up so you can pull on it. The adhesive tape should be pressed with some pressure on the plug. Now you pull on the ends of the adhesive tape.

The plug should be removable without difficulty.
