Put potatoes in hot water

For centuries potatoes were put on cold water because the potatoes had been covered with water. So everything warmed up evenly and the potatoes were cooked at the same time. Unfortunately, vitamins were destroyed as well.

Since you cook vegetables in the pressure cooker or in the microwave, you no longer need the large amount of water. I pour about 1/8 of the water of the potato quantity over the potatoes in the pressure cooker or in the microwave vessel (+ salt and possibly cumin). You can easily use warm or boiling water, as the vegetables are cooked by the hot steam. For frozen vegetables, this is even recommended. It keeps a nicer color and does not get soggy.

If you are cooking vegetables in the microwave, you should invert this in between, so that the top does not dry out (cook potatoes for about 12 minutes - depending on the amount).
