Pyre - Austrian specialty

The stake is an Austrian specialty


  • 1 fresh Striezel = Germzopf with raisins
  • 1 L of milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 pck vanilla sugar
  • 12-16 g of sugar
  • 3-4 big apples
  • some cinnamon


  1. Well buttered baking pan.
  2. Cut the strieze into 12 mm slices. These are the bottom layer.
  3. Cut the apple in 5 mm and lay 2 layers (total 1 cm).
  4. Top again a layer of striezel and press the whole thing something.
  5. Whisk 1 L of milk and the 4 eggs well. Vanilla sugar and sugar. Mix well. Cinnamon (attention is hard to touch, floating).
  6. Then distribute everything well over it. I'll do it with the ladle, and keep the shape awry so that something can go anywhere. Distribute the last creators nicely with cinnamon, otherwise you will get a cinnamon stick.
  7. Preheat oven to 170 hot air. Bake 35-40 minutes.
  8. When ready baked, put some icing sugar on it and put something in the warm tube.
