Rice without sauce tastes rather boring. As an accompaniment to meat dishes that do not give sauce, such as cevapcici, steaks, meatballs, etc., I often make "red rice".
For this, a chopped onion and a clove of garlic are sautéed in some oil, and then a large cup of raw rice is added with stirring until all the grains of oil are slightly shiny. Now add two large cups of tomato juice and 2 tablespoons of tomato puree, a teaspoon of salt and pepper and simmer for a quarter of an hour at low speed.
After 5 minutes you can switch off the stove, the heat is sufficient and it does not burn.
This is the basic recipe, you can vary it according to your mood. Herbs such as rosemary and thyme, parsley, chives, tarragon always go, you can also add some herb butter.
It also tastes good if you mitgart cut vegetables such as celery, paprika, leeks or fresh peppers, which are then added with the rice.
You can also bake the finished rice with cheese (also like sheep or goat cheese).
