If it has to go very fast and you break up a bag soup quickly, you can spice it up with some soup vegetables such as celery, carrots, leeks and herbs.

I always buy carrots and leeks in larger quantities, wash the vegetables, cut everything small and freeze it. That works fine and tastes like fresh after thawing. You do not have to blanch it before freezing, as is often recommended. You really do not notice any difference to the fresh vegetables.

Simply mix carrots, leeks, parsley etc. and place in a smaller plastic container, e.g. freeze a margarine container. This little "block" then you tip in the soup and has the right amount. Of course, a freezer bag is also possible.
