Remedy for plantar warts

Since I've been looking for some tips even a few months ago, because of five annoying plantar warts under my feet (three under the left heel, one under the left foot and one under the right metatarsus), I thought I'd describe how I used to Success came.

All of my warts were between 0.5 and 2 years old when I started to treat them properly

The dermatologist recommended Guttaplast, a plaster with a corrosive side. This is fixed with Leukoplast because it would not stick to the skin by itself for too long. I cut the Guttaplast so that it went about 3 mm over the wart, so a bit more generous (I limited it only to the size of the wart, but then you can scarcely scratch anything off - so a bigger piece of Guttaplast is better ).

Every fourth day, I removed the patch and removed the soft skin with a sharp curette. What you can ablate, you can see clearly from the discoloration of the skin: Everything that is white discolored, can off. Once the rosy skin appears, you should stop scratching. On average, you can easily remove 0.5-1 mm of skin.

After that came a new piece of Guttaplast and Leukoplast on it and it was again waiting four days. As a result, the wart is peeled off more and more and the root grows slowly to the skin surface, until you can finally scrape off the "hard core" of misery. The core can be seen through black / dark red small dots, but even after those are outside, you should continue for two months.

The whole procedure has taken me a good 1.5 years - that sounds very long and in between I doubted the method more often - but in the end it is totally painless and can be done well at home.

However, the only time I scratched the skin every 7 days the first year, probably the treatment duration could have shortened a bit, if I had scratched every four days. In addition, I have the warts at the beginning on the advice of the dermatologist even with liquid nitrogen freeze.

Episode:

After a wart, I had a 10-cent-sized warts stove and every time I could not walk properly for a few days in pain. I honestly did not care about the latter, pain was not a problem, as long as it would help, but after the warts stove really broke out, I preferred to let it frost.

Annoying at the therapy:

  1. Leukoplast. Just below the feet it is always stuck to socks or barefoot on the shoes. Straight barefoot in sandals or flip flops, that does not work. For individual events, I simply simply taped on the size of the leucoplastic armor tape, which helps a day very well!
  2. Scratch. It takes a while to scrape everything off properly. With my five warts, I have scratched and glued for 20 minutes once needed. When I had to treat only two more warts towards the end, of course, that went much faster.
  3. Disinfect. The curette must always be disinfected with Sterilium, I even disinfected it even before scratching it, for sure it is safe.
  4. Swim. In the sea or in the lake no problem, as long as the plaster has stuck for a few hours - it stays that way, unless you take 3 hours dauerbadet (Therefore, showering is not a problem). For that reason, I did not go to the swimming pool because I was embarrassed and you can not hide the pavement in the clear pool water so well from the view of the others.
  5. Lengthy. You have to be disciplined and wait ...

I have to say, I've been really unnerved in some cases, but since I got rid of the first wart in fall 2012, it did not bother me anymore. The last wart I eradicated April of this year and in the four months so far, not a single again and the skin looks normal again :)

Good thing about the therapy:

  • Inexpensive. The curette has 5 for me? The dermatologist tasted that I renewed every 3 months about. The Leukoplast and Guttaplast costs around 2-4 ?, everything is affordable for a student like me and lasts for a while.
  • Without prescription. You get everything from the pharmacy or at the reception of the dermatologist, depending on where you get the curette.
  • Pain-free. The scratching really does not hurt much. Only at the beginning, when the warts are not yet flattened, it can sometimes hurt a bit. Bleeding does not do it. If still cut - scratch Sterilium over it and not further!
  • It helped! Probably the most important :) No scars, nothing!

I hope someone helps.
