Remove adhesive pads (power strips)

I had hung in my apartment self-adhesive mirror tiles from the hardware store, which are attached with power strip-like adhesive pads. Now I'm undressing, and the things have to go back from the door and closet. Only that they - unlike real power strips - are not intended for easy detachment. They hold bombproof. Heating and cold did not help.

I found a way to save the mirror tile and completely remove the glue residue:
I put a nylon thread behind the tile (there is always a slot of about 1-2mm) and pulled it along behind the tile. So I severed the adhesive pad. Did not even have to pull very hard.

After that, remnants remain on the tile and on the other surface. These could easily be rubbed away with a soft eraser.

The documents were both plastic (door and wall unit) with me. Whether that works, if the tile sticks to wood, I do not know.
I wish you success!
