Remove glue from flytrap

You know that, actually you want to capture the fruit flies with the glue traps, then one of the adhesive strips falls down and lands (how could it be otherwise) with the adhesive side on the windowsill.

Or you handle the trap so unhappily that the glue sticks to the window.

My advice:

This can be easily and gently remedied with vegetable oil (eg olive oil).

You also need a soft furniture cloth or a microfiber cloth. Simply pour a small amount of oil on horizontal surfaces or, with vertical surfaces, apply a little oil directly to the cloth and gently wipe off the sticky with circular movements. This works even months later without any problems.

You can clean afterwards simply with normal cleaner (glass cleaner for the window, or detergent for smooth surfaces). If it is an oiled or natural wood, just completely oil the affected area once. For natural wood, for example, I would Use walnut oil or other nut oil.
