Remove stench from thermo mug / thermos flask with vinegar

The other day I stupidly prepared salty tea in my very good thermo mug and let it stand. What I did not know that sage leaves a very, very bitter taste that gets really deep in the jar. Even after the dishwasher, the coffee tastes inedible after bitter sage.

After many experiments, I found the following stink killer: First, it smells much worse, but then it's gone!

Take pure vinegar and bring it to a boil in a pot (Caution, if possible, open the windows wide open). Immediately pour the boiling vinegar into the thermo mug. Close the thermos cup and turn it upside down. Most of the stink particles are in the closure, and that is exactly where the vinegar is supposed to creep. Shake well in between. (Attention, only if you have a really tight thermo cup.)

Since it is a thermo mug / thermos, we have the wonderful side effect that the vinegar is hot for several hours to do in the cup his work.

After one night rinse well with detergent and the smell should be gone, at least very diminished. If necessary, repeat again.
