Repair coffee maker (planned obsolescence)

After having our coffee machine (of course, after the warranty period / planned obsolescence) nothing worked, I went to the bottom of the matter. The machine (no name mentioned here!) Operates on the basis of the magnetic circuit, that is, in the water tank is a float in which there is a small magnet.

This magnet switches off the magnetic switch located in the machine exactly opposite the removable water tank, if there is insufficient water in the storage tank. Of course, this is due to security and should prevent damage to the device (!).

After I realized that the float did not move up with filling the water and thus did not release the operation of the coffee machine, I removed the float. This is not (or wanted ?!) not exactly easy, but who has some skill, a little more patience, both together or even better a gifted husband, can save the purchase of a new coffee machine.

The removal of the float was only after the preparation of auxiliary tools (longer bent and at the end angled stable wire such as a bicycle spoke) possible. In the float housing, whose lid can be easily opened, there is the small magnet, which is completely filthy due to the magnetic particles in the water and absolutely must be cleaned, and two "floats" made of foam rubber.

The floats are only several millimeters in size and are getting full of water over time. And saturated floats do not let the float rise, it stays on the ground and does not rise up when filled with water, so the magnet does not turn on the switch and the machine does not work.

I have the Schaumgummischwimmkörper immediately transported to the trash and cut me small equal Schwimmköper foam polystyrene. Because what works in the cistern of the toilet, of course, also in the small! Lo and behold, after the installation of the float, the coffee maker works perfectly again. I believe that the technicians do not know that "definitely".
