Replacing road salt - more environmentally friendly and effective

Oh scary! That's where snow falls! And nobody knew it! And what do you do? Run immediately in super / hardware store, and buy road salt! I always did. Now I have neighbors who have dogs. So converted to granules. Also not so intoxicating, since you then have to sweep again, so that the granules do not end up in the apartment.

Then by chance I read of magnesium chloride. Was surprised! Quote: It is more environmentally friendly and more effective in cold temperatures, as compared to other products, it works up to a temperature of -30! And in Canada you use it too!
