Rescue soled shoes with Pattex Compact

The winter seemed almost over, but suddenly there was another load of snow. So I brought out the winter boots again in the evening, only to find that on one boot the sole on the edge has replaced something - which not only looked ugly but above all meant that the boot was no longer water- or slush-resistant.

Now the winter but as I said already almost over, as you find in such a small shoe size as mine nothing more fitting (at least if you do not put increased value on Girlie boots in baby pink ...) and also I needed the shoes urgently for the next morning. So what do you do?

I made the following: First, I brushed the transition point from leather to sole again with black permanent marker, because the leather was slightly scraped in place.

Then I grabbed Pattex Compact (cobbler glue or superglue which is suitable for both rubber and leather work by the way), the affected area generously (!) Brushed, briefly let it dry and then pressed together for a few minutes with all the strength.

If a larger piece of sole has replaced, you should possibly drive with one hand in the boots and then with a hammer, the sole from the outside properly tap.

What should I say: The sole was solid again, from the small repair you saw nothing and the boot was waterproof again.

After that, of course, I bought new boots in the following autumn, because I did not know how long this stopgap will last - but that would not have been necessary. The boots keep still today and even last winter even several days hikes through knee-high snow weathered, without my feet have become wet :)

In the meantime I have also repaired my favorite Chucks, who got off the page a bit, but otherwise were still faultless. The whole thing works well with sneakers and other tretters.
