Rye flour for silky soft hair

I've been washing my hair with rye flour or rye wholemeal flour for almost a year now and I'm still excited about it.

My hair is no longer combing through, they are nice and silky soft and have become a little stronger. Another advantage is that you do not have to wash as often. Although I had no strong greasy hair, but every 2 days I had to wash them. With the rye flour I only need to wash it every 4-5 days.

Here is the recipe for who wants to taste it:

  • 2 tablespoons whole-grain rye flour or rye flour
  • lukewarm water
  • optional 1 teaspoon soda (strengthens the cleansing effect)
  • Optionally, a few drops of essential oils

I put the flour and soda in a bowl, pour a small amount of lukewarm water on it and stir it. I only add a little bit of water, so that at the end you get a thin crepe dough. Approximately Let rest for 1.5 hours. The stated amount is for short hair.

Another advantage: If you have done too much, you can use the rest for the body.

I massage the prepared rye shampoo (flour meal), starting at the hairline, into the damp hair and leave it for a few minutes. Then it is rinsed warm. After drying, the hair feels smooth and loose and are easy to comb, it is not necessary to rinse.

It is not long lasting. I stir it fresh for every hair wash.

Do not use wheat or spelled flour, they contain a lot of gluten and would stick the hair together.

This tip also saves waste and no chemicals get into the wastewater.
