Sailing and playing with US kids - a summer camp job
To meet the US for 9 weeks in a North American summer camp. Doing sports with children and adolescents, making crafts, playing guitar on a campfire. That would be something: a job with food and sleeping for free. The flight ticket from and back Frankfurt is also free. But there are some paid fees.
CAMP AMERICA is the name of this program for young people who like to interact with children. Casual vacations should not be expected, but hard work in small teams, where everyone has equal rights but different responsibilities. It is discussed, argued and celebrated ... So a very special adventure.
Duration of jobs, costs?
The CAMP AMERICA program is organized by AIFS (American Institute for Foreign Studies, based in Germany). Nine-week jobs are taught in 600 camps in the northeastern United States. Start of work is at the beginning of May 2016, end of work at the latest in mid-August 2016. As I said, food, accommodation and flight are free. Care and insurance package are chargeable. There is also a pocket money for the 9 weeks work.
Who can apply?
Minimum age 18 years. Best English skills are required. Applicants should be resilient and athletic and able to deal well with children and adolescents. It is great when you play a musical instrument or like to tinker. After the online application, a preselection will be made. There is also an interview with an AIFS representative in the area where the candidate lives.
