Saving or replacing sugar: some tips

You can save sugar when cooking a fruit compote by adding a pinch of salt and a pinch of baking soda or soda. You only need a small amount of sugar without the compote tasting sour. Try that with redcurrants or rhubarb.

I find it very interesting to sprinkle on the halved grapefruit little salt. The salt is alkaline and neutralizes the acid in the fruit.

Unsweetened fruit juices taste sweet when you add a pureed carrot. Then you do not need additional sugar! Much healthier!

And finally:

If you like to drink your coffee with a sweet aroma: put two mashed cardamom capsules in the coffee pot. The coffee tastes slightly sweet and is no longer bitter.
