Seal the mouse hole - this helps against mice

Anyone who lives in an old building knows the problem. There is always somewhere a mouse hole in poorly accessible angles or they slip through wall openings, where z. B. water pipes. At night, a constant Knurps-Knurps-Knurps annoying behind the closet, where the cat can not get.

But even if the mouse is caught, that does not mean all-clear, because where one came from, there are more of them. Stretching the hole will not last long, they will bite and scrape the filler out soon.

Then, about 10 years ago, I came up with the idea to block the mouse track with steel pot scratches (Putzrasch) under the sink. So stuck around the drainpipe and then plastered. I also closed the hole in the paneling in the attic room with it.

And lo and behold - these places are still untouched today, the mice seemingly thoroughly lost in this metal braid, the desire to durchknknbern. Whenever I find a suspicious spot somewhere, it is stuffed with those pot scratches.

Extra coarse steel wool from the hardware store is expected to do just as good a job on larger areas ...
