Second-hand items in vending stores
In several cities, including Berlin, Hamburg, Trier, Nuremberg, Dresden, there are already completely non-commercial Umsonstläden. There you can take up to three articles for free.
There are well-preserved second-hand clothes, shoes, books, CDs, games, tools and small household items (such as glasses or crockery) in the vending shops. A donation is welcome for the store rental, but not a condition.
If you want, you can bring even used and well-preserved things there, but should not be too big, such as furniture or large electronic devices. The bringing of own things is not a duty, for example, to be allowed to take some from the store.
Furthermore, the visit to the Umsonstladen is not tied to neediness.
