Secure magnetic soap holder without drilling
Here are all my attempts to get a magnetic soap holder. Advantage, the soap stays dry.
Problems and experiments with a light, small piece of soap. Of course, before cleaning tiles with alcohol or vinegar cleaner, they must be dry. You can not screw through the plastic.
1. Magnetic soap holder in stainless steel look bought at the hardware store, attached with the enclosed transparent plastic part, lasts about 5 minutes.
2. Double-sided carpet tape - stops at the tiles, but the holder also falls off after 10 minutes.
3. Completely sticky fabric tape on the carpet tape made, carpet tape holds, holder drops after about 20 minutes
4. Magnetic soap holder with glue from the hot glue gun coated nicely thick, so that the cavity that is created again and again in the suction cup, is filled, then on the adhesive material that still hung on the tiles, done, nothing! But at least 6 hours!
5. Everything has been reconciled and tried to glue the holder with a normal eagle owl, let Uhu dry a bit, held about 45 seconds! Eagle owl removed, everything always cleaned properly see above ...
6. Completely unnerved looked at "TheFruitAndFlowerBasket" and found well-intentioned tips! Give up and throw away, no!
7. Tip 1 of TheFruitAndFlowerBasket: Hairspray, held for about 30 seconds
8. Tip 2 by TheFruitAndFlowerBasket: Spit uselessly :-)
9. Tip 3 of TheFruitAndFlowerBasket: Protein, tata ... no effect, does not last.
10. Wash the suction cup hot, holding for half a second.
Behind the suction cup always creates a cavity, that's the problem.
Idea, after careful reflection and various nervous breakdowns :-)
1. Take a small piece of wood 0.5 cm thick, in this case the round attachment part of the soap holder, hold it round, in case of quadrangular or quadrangular or interesting shapes (small fretwork). The wooden plate may also be 0.5 cm in diameter more than the holder. Looks good. Mine has a diameter of 9 cm, the holder has 8.5 cm.
2. Paint with acrylic varnish (available in small doses eg in black in the hardware store), the wooden plate on one side in a matching color to the bathroom or the tiles suitable, in my case black with yellow tiles, and black floor tiles, looks classy in the stainless steel look of the holder.
4. Let the paint dry and glue the soap holder with suction cup in the middle and do the whole thing about 30 minutes with a caliper fix or overnight, until the paint is nice and dry, but goes quickly with acrylic paint.
5. Now you attach the wooden plate to the soap holder that suddenly stops, great! With double-sided carpet tape on the tiles. The carpet tape was so good anyway.
6. Holds for 3 days, despite steam in the bathroom! Hooray!
If the holder nevertheless separates from the wooden plate, try again to stick it firmly. The main thing is that he does not hollow himself out afterward. The wooden plate is stuck to the tiles, there is nothing more.
The whole thing is also great to remove, since the double-sided carpet tape is well removed from the tiles.
Conclusion: Works and looks even nobler.
Hygiene no problem, because the paint has sealed the wooden plate on the top.
Of course, also paint the 0.5 cm edge on the side, it is clear. I did not paint the backside. The sticks so on the carpet tape.

PS: That with the small fretwork is no joke. If you are skilled, you can Sawing and painting a small hand and attaching the holder to it also works with clear lacquer (acrylic) if you want to see the wood. Or sow a fish, or what you want, the imagination there are no limits.
