Serbian rice meat for the Römertopf

Recipe for 4 people

300g rice
1 pepper each green, red, yellow
500g tomatoes
1 big onion
about 500g to 600g roast leftovers or meat sausage without Knobi
a little olive oil
1l clear broth
Pepper to taste
plenty of sweet peppers

No salt, that's not necessary because of the broth.


Cut the meat into small cubes and sauté, chop the pepper, tomatoes and onion and add to the meat.

In a separate pan on a high flame, lightly roast the rice and quench with 1/4 liter of broth.

Pour the meat vegetables and rice into the watered Römertopf, sprinkle with the remaining broth, sprinkle with pepper and paprika powder, stir and place in the cold oven. Set the oven to 180 degrees and cook for about 90 minutes.

When I cook it for my children, I always need twice that amount, as they can never get enough of it.
