Sew buttons firmly and elastically with stuffing yarn

I have yet another tip to sew buttons firmly. The good old stuffing yarn is elastic and tear-resistant. Until a few years ago there was this in many colors by the company Egelhaff, unfortunately not anymore. But other makes are well suited.

Sew on 2-3 layers with double thread, if necessary, wrap around the neck and then knot the ends tightly. The latter should not happen in the fabric, but in the thread itself (neck). If the knot is not properly tightened, it dissolves again and the button threatens to fall off.

Sewing buttons in this way virtually eliminates the need to tear them off or turn them off, unless by force.

Another advantage is that they can easily be separated again without leaving too many traces in the fabric. That's how I sewed all the buttons on my outer clothing. My girlfriend has several sets of buttons for her winter coat, which I regularly exchange with her.
