Granny's Silesian Potato Salad

ingredients

  • 2 hard-boiled eggs
  • 4 cornichons
  • 1 sour apple
  • 3-4 string sausages / frankfurters
  • 3 chicken fillets
  • 1 large cup of Schmand
  • 5-6 large salad potatoes (jacket potatoes, possibly from the previous day)
  • Hot mustard
  • 1 onion
  • Wild garlic or garlic salt
  • White pepper
  • some vinegar (possibly from cornichons)
  • 1/2 cup of meat or vegetable stock
  • something Maggi (depending on your taste)

preparation

Cut the eggs into thin slices with the egg cutter in pens and cornichons, cut the apple into small pieces and cut into pieces like the string sausages, halve the matjes fillets, dice them, dice the onion and put them all in a large bowl.


Add mustard to taste, mix briefly, slice the potatoes, mix well with sour cream and vinegar, add warm stock (to make the salad slightly juicier). With salt and pepper, possibly a little Maggi mix well and taste.

Possibly overnight, in the summer, of course, in the refrigerator, in winter, also a cool place enough.

Not only my family, but also our friends love this salad, and it is often desired.

Depending on your taste, you can garnish something like halved eggs with a little caviar (of course not cod J), lettuce leaves, radishes, just as you might think.
