Silicone spray for alloy wheels
The aluminum wheels are no longer attacked by the brake dust, if you spray the rims with a thin film of silicone spray after the car wash.
Even under extreme conditions (eg a holiday trip or longer intervals between car washes), the dirty rim (without expensive rim cleaner) looks like a new condition after using a high-pressure cleaner.
The tire outer flanks can also be treated well with silicone spray. The tire not only looks like new, it also forgives rather light abrasions, e.g. from the curb.
PS: Never spray the rims when mounted! The brake discs can be affected.
