For some time we have a favorite dish that is super easy to prepare and tastes very delicious. A great Sunday lunch, made with very little effort and really delicious: roast beef with a lot of sauce.

You can prepare it well in the evening before, so you have less work on Sunday.

ingredients

  • 700 g - 1000 g roast beef
  • some flour for dusting
  • 2-3 tablespoons butter
  • 250 g - 300 g cream
  • 200 g - 300 g meat broth
  • 2 onions (to taste 2 garlic cloves)
  • 2-3 carrots
  • 60 ml balsamic vinegar (dark)
  • Salt and pepper (from the mill)

preparation

  1. First, the onions are peeled and cut into rings, the carrots are washed and cut into larger pieces.
  2. Then the meat is prepared: wash it, dry it and sprinkle it on a board or plate with some flour all around. I used a small sieve.
  3. Heat the butter in a saucepan and sauté the roast beef from all sides. Now the balsamic vinegar is poured on and everything is left to simmer until it evaporates.
  4. Now pepper the meat and salt. I always like to have everything freshly ground from the mill.
  5. Then broth and cream are added. With the lid closed and reduced heat, roast the beef for about 3 hours. After that it is super delicate and hmm ... very tasty!
  6. After cooking, take the roast out, put it on a plate or something similar, pour the sauce through a sieve and possibly boil it down a bit so that it is a bit thick. However, that depends on how you like it. I prefer a bit more liquid sauce and never add a sauce thickener, which of course you can do.
  7. The sauce may be seasoned with salt and pepper.

Tips:

If you want, you can also add 2-3 garlic cloves, roughly chopped, to the onions and the carrots and fry.

The onions and carrots I give extra to eat, not all family members like the vegetables, I love it! You can of course also puree the vegetables with the sauce, so you get a thicker gravy.

In addition there are dumplings for one part of the family and mashed potatoes for the other part! Oh yes, and of course red cabbage with apple - cooked well for a long time and cucumber salad.

The sauce really tastes excellent and - do not worry - not even vinegar!
