Simply make bird or hedgehog potions

You have a pot lid left? Maybe one more, from which you can unscrew the handle in the middle? Unscrew it, put a glass marmot in the hole with hot glue - and you've got a birdbath and Igel potions that did not cost anything. It helps the animals, they need water in the hot summer!

fawn cat: Thank you for this tip! In our cooperative in the middle of Hamburg (Schanzenviertel, so very central) I have set up several bird baths / baths, always with a big stone in the middle. In addition to birds, hedgehogs, rabbits and squirrels also drink. The things are so big that even crows and pigeons bathe in it, usually I have to change the water twice a day. One potion is a disused wok, the other a very large tin plate, about 40 cm in diameter, with a high edge.
But not only for drinking or bathing these containers are used: Every morning a crow appears with her boy, they usually bring along pieces of bread that they have found somewhere, and throw them into the water in the tin plate. So every 30 seconds they get the pieces out again and see if they are soft enough. When they're done, they eat them up.
But not only bread, but also pieces of cheese or meat I have seen the crows wash in the potions. That's why I usually take the kettle with boiling hot
Water, to change the water in the potions, because then there is an almost opaque soup left.
By the way, such a tip; Ever since I found a dead bird after the winter in a large watering can that I keep outside, that its thirst obviously cost me my life, and that now stinks miserably, I squeeze a disused plastic flowerpot into the opening of the watering cans. This obstructs the filling only insignificantly and prevents further birds from drowning.
You could of course also the watering cans only herausehrhrt and pick up with the opening down, but with us the filling tap is 30 meters away and I am often grateful for every half watering can filling, if I only need to water a newly planted perennial.
Thanks again for the tip, reading the comments has given me much pleasure.
