Who does not know that? The dog does not want to eat his tablet. If you wrap the stuff in liverwurst or similar, you can be lucky.
Our collie must take a thyroid tablet twice daily for life. If we would wrap the pills in something edible every time, our Liebeling would soon look like a fat liverwurst.
So there had to be another solution. Shut up, tablets in - everything already tried. Just made that the dog already ears when calling.
The following works very well:
- Call the dog and already suggest that something really great is happening now. So a la: "Yes come here, mmhh mmmhh treats, yes fine" (you know already and keep beautiful the voice above)
- Let dog sit and praise it very exuberantly: "You have done fine, fine, fine" and patting the head nice.
- Raise index finger (Dog language: Attention: now comes the top!) And give paw.
As a reward, there is now the tablet with a lot of praise and pampering. Works well with Chaucer. Maybe our dog is just stupid and easy to outwit ...
