Sparks in the microwave?
When cooking in the microwave, it may come once or more often to sparking in the oven. The causes of a single spark may be that there is too little food to be cooked in the cooking chamber, or two metal objects, between which a discharge takes place in the form of sparking, e.g. Garrost and turntable made of metal are not isolated from each other.
Another cause may be behind the cover to the RF channel. This is a cap made of mineral material, usually fastened with one or two screws. Due to the constant cooking processes behind this cap grease residues are deposited, which are reheated with each use. As a result, these residues slowly carbonize and when that happens,
it comes to the said sparking.
In such a case you can unscrew and clean the cover. If burn holes have already formed, the cap must be replaced. In addition, there are in the spare parts trade for household appliances universal covers, between 5 to 10 euros, which are cut with a pair of scissors or a utility knife. In most cases, the microwave will work again.
