Spelled rolls half and half
Time
Preparation time: 20 min.
Cooking or baking time: 15 min.
Total preparation time: 35 min.
For many years I bake my own rolls and mostly spelled wholemeal flour. Since these rolls are too heavy for some, especially if you have stomach problems more often, I have gotten used to the stripped down method.
The rolls are lighter, looser and still very tasty.
Ingredients:
- 500 g of normal spelled flour
- 500 g spelled wholemeal flour
- 2 cubes of fresh yeast
- 15 g of salt
- 20 g honey or sugar
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 600 ml of lukewarm water
preparation
- Stir well in a bowl with the dough hook and leave for one hour in a warm place.
- Then sprinkle some flour on the work board and roll through the dough properly.
- Divide the dough in half and form ten rolls from each half and spread them on two plates.
- I cover the sheets with a tea towel and let the dough rest for 20 minutes, the buns are visibly larger again.
- In the meantime, preheat the oven to 170 degrees.
- Bake the rolls for about 13 to 15 minutes.
- The reason why I share the dough, because otherwise it is too large a mass and I can divide it worse.
- If you want less than 20 rolls, the appropriate mass of flour and less ingredients takes less.
- I always freeze the bread rolls, three for each and bake them in the morning.
I wish you good luck!
