It's finally here again! When it's cold and gloomy outside in autumn and winter, this favorite spice cake tastes the best.
ingredients
- 250 g of margarine
- 250 g of sugar
- grated orange peel
- 4 eggs
- 320 g of flour
- 1 pck of baking soda
- 125 g of ground almonds
- 125 g of grated dark chocolate
- 1 Msp. Ground cloves
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 pinch of ground allspice
- 2 tbsp rum
- 150 ml of milk
- 100 ml of orange juice
- For the glaze: dark couverture
preparation
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees (top / bottom heat), grease the baking tin and dust with flour.
- I always take this gugelhupfähnliche form on the grooves as the individual pieces are marked. You can also bake it in a box mold or Gugelhupf. Then it starts:
- Beat the margarine with 175 g of sugar and the orange peel until fluffy, and separate the eggs.
- Gradually stir in the yolks, add the flour and baking powder and stir. Then mix in the almonds, chocolate and spices and then, alternately, rum, milk and the orange juice.
- Finally, beat the egg whites with the remaining sugar until stiff and fold in.
- Put the dough in the mold and bake for about 30 minutes. He always needs me at least 45 minutes. Please take care of yourself and make a stick sample. After cooling, glaze with dark couverture and enjoy.
Please be sure to note that with the Eiertrennen, I once made it out of laziness and so the cake was a disaster.
