Store pens properly

This tip is exclusively for pin lovers who always like to have their pencil (meaning all kinds of drawing and ink sticks) ready to use and therefore want to have stored it gently.

Because I have been for several months? also with high-priced pens? draw and also use different types of pens, then eventually came up the question of how I can prevent the drying out and even drying of some pens.

I would like to share my experiences here, because only a painter? Pen is a useful one!

Let's start with the crayons:

Since there is no liquid in the interior that can flow back and forth, it does not matter if you store it lying or standing. If standing, I would position it with the (sensitive) tip up. I store my own lying? in the case of the expensive pens, I padded a flat box with dimpled foil (packaging material) so that the tips and mines did not bump during transport? be or even break.

Double-sided felt-tip pens and / or double-sided markers:

These emit a liquid during use. So that both tips of each pin are always kept moist, these pins should be stored horizontally, ie lying down: both pin ends are equally soaked in the liquid? The pen is always optimally prepared for drawing!

For writing (careful drawing of letters in all their individual lines) I often use pens that look like a brush at the top. That's why they will Brush Pens called. These pens as well as one-sided Felt-tip pens, Eddings of all kinds, Gelstifte and also Sharpies I always put with the only ever moistened Tip down in a container.

One must mention that the gel pens are not so vulnerable, because the liquid is somewhat viscous due to the glitter components? Gelstifte can be stored in my experience so also lying.

It is quite different with all pens, which have to be shaken each time before use, so that the color can penetrate into the tip. This includes everyone Glitter pencils, acrylic pencils, many Eddings and Posca markers. This type of pens should be used with the Cap down Place in a container so that there is always sufficient liquid at the tip, the tip can not dry out so quickly and the pen is always ready for writing when you take it in your hand.

In this sense: Let us (courage to) confess color!
