Strain liquids through sieve with cloth diaper

It is often said in recipes "put a piece of kitchen paper in a hair sieve and filter the broth / liquid butter through it". This was not a problem in the past, but today the pulp industry has developed kitchen paper so absorbent that it could certainly transport water for miles.

Since I remembered how it was done earlier, thin linen towels! These are, however, quite expensive, I was looking for an alternative and found these thin cloth diapers. Simple thin cotton towels. You can find them in every drugstore.

They are not woven very tight, I put them mostly folded in the sieve. After filtering, I wash them with a little detergent in the sink and then give to the laundry.
