Stress free New Year's Eve for your dog and family

New Year's Eve means stress for many dogs (including cats) because they react to the sometimes enormous noise level caused by firecrackers and firework rockets with loud howling, barking or even whimpering. Some of our four-legged friends crawl and are still very disturbed a day later.

To prevent this, we have got our dog accustomed to all surrounding noises from day one. We walked through big construction sites with him, without talking to him.

If he was scared, we stroked him briefly and moved on. Police or fire sirens have never been commented on. Ambulance car not considered, even if they were in the immediate vicinity.

Although he became restless during the day on New Year's Eve, he did not hide, holler or bark.

He has built so much faith in us over time that he felt safe and did not fear him.

There were completely different scenarios in the neighborhood. If the basis between dog and owner / master is right, then you can with patience and empathy, definitely on New Year's Eve, have a relaxing evening or a nice New Year's Eve party.

By calm and self-confident behavior, the dog is encouraged, and if we celebrate New Year's Eve, should our four-legged friend but do without stress with us.
