They are available in plastic, cardboard or fabric samples. Significantly smaller and super flat are the color passages in the card format. Ideal for eyeglass wearers and spectacle wearers is the color pass as a microfibre cloth, which disappears unobtrusively in the glasses case and can be used to clean the glasses. In my color advice, I got glued by the expert the matching colors in a kind of folding card. It was too unstable for me in the long run, so I switched to a fan, which is protected by a plastic cover.
How many colors should your color passport contain?
The number of colors in the color passages varies significantly. Whether 24, 36 or 48 pieces, they all stand for one of the many colors that make up your color type and are intended as a guide. If you are unsure, I recommend you a color pass with many colors, even if it is certainly difficult to grab exactly these colors. With a bit of practice you will later get the little chip card.

If you know your color type, you can buy the matching color pass already for 4 euros. The prices go up to 35 euros. If you do not want to carry a passport with you, you can also load a color pass app for about 4 euros onto the smartphone. However, the manufacturers point out that the color scheme differs depending on the device and recommend a one-time color calibration.
Tips for shopping
Granted, the first shopping tour with Farbpass was a bit embarrassing for me. I told the saleswoman that I'm a seasons newbie and I realize I'm not going to run for the color of my passport looking through the department now, but I'd be happy to help with the color pass. And that worked quite well. The saleswoman also said that I could look at my selection in the daylight, which I was very grateful.
