Successfully grow culinary herbs on the windowsill

There is nothing better than fresh herbs for salad, food and Co. They are healthier and also more aromatic than dried or frozen herbs.

You do not necessarily need your own garden, because if you pay attention to a few things, it works great on a window sill.

Suitable are: basil, dill, cress, parsley, oregano, peppermint and chives.

Please note the following tips

  • Looking for a sunny location, a window facing west or south.
  • There should be no heating under the window or not switched on.
  • Select a larger plant pot so that the plant has good space.
  • Avoid waterlogging while still watering regularly. Less is more.
  • Remove wilted leaves.
  • Possibly. Remove flowers immediately, because they rob the plant unnecessarily force.
  • After the first planting, the plant should be fertilized after a few weeks (this works very well with coffee grounds and egg shells).
  • You should cut back the plant only in the fall.
