Summer dessert: vodka melon

A great summer dessert is the vodka melon, ideal for a picnic or after a barbecue on hot afternoons or balmy summer evenings.

ingredients

A whole uncut watermelon - it has to be ripe - you can tell by the hollow sound when you knock on the outside of the bowl. If the melon is not ripe, you have hardly any space for the vodka inside. The shell should be dark green with a ripe melon

  • 1-2 individual spaghetti rods
  • 1 / 4-1 / 2 L Vodka for medium to large melons
  • 1 large hypodermic syringe with long needle

preparation

  1. You always vacuum some vodka with the syringe and inject the vodka into the watermelon until you have everything inside.
  2. When you pull the needle out again, you have to quickly insert the rod spaghetti about 2 cm into the hole and then break it off. The Spagettistückchen swells in the shell and prevents the outflow of injected vodka.
  3. Then let the melon "pull" one day and then off to the fridge.
  4. Cut ice-cold and serve.

Caution: You can taste the alcohol less than you think ;-)
