Super crispy onions

My crispy onion pieces get along with little frying fat and are super delicious as a side dish to fried, as a topping for a salad or fried potatoes.

ingredients

  • 3 large onions
  • 3 tablespoons potato starch powder
  • Thistle oil or sunflower oil for frying

That is how it goes

  1. The onions are peeled and cut into strips.
  2. In the microwave they are cooked for 2 minutes, then drained on paper. You are thus already slightly glassy and pre-cooked - without fat.
  3. Mix them in a bowl with potato starch - the starch forms a delicate shell and makes the onions crispy - and fry them portionwise in a pan in oil brown. Turn now and then and drain in a bowl on kitchen roll. Salt and pepper - and serve.
