Sweet puff pastry pillows
From the last dessert preparation, I had left some of the delicious wild cranberries that a friend had collected and cooked. Also finished puff pastry was still in my supply and so I decided to bake some sweet puff pastry fast.
These are very fast and easy to produce, also the pillows are delicious for coffee and as a snack in between. I can recommend it with a clear conscience and baking is easy. Of course you can fill the pillows with any other fruit. I am sure you will find the right taste for you.
Ingredients for 18 pillows
(depending on size, it will be more or less)
- 2 plates ready made puff pastry
- about 250 g of boiled cranberries (or another fruit compote according to stock and choice)
- 1 whole egg
preparation
First, I unrolled the puff pastry lying on its baking paper and laid it flat on the work surface. I switched on the oven so that it is preheated to 200 degrees to bake the pillows.
Then I have with a teaspoon small piles of boiled cranberries at equal intervals on one of the puff pastry plates set. I have now circled these individual piles with the squished egg square. From the second puff pastry plate, I now cut strips to match the cranberry piles and put them on the prepared squares.
With a sharp knife, I then have the lower puff pastry plate to match the cover along in strips and cut across in checks. I pressed the edges well on the edges set with egg and carefully compressed with a fork again for safety.
Finally, I brushed the cushions with the rest of the beaten eggs, placed them on a baking sheet together with the baking paper and pushed them into the preheated oven. There I let it bake for about 15 to a maximum of 20 minutes golden brown.
After baking I put the pillows on a wire rack to cool down. After cooling, they can be nibbled together with a good cup of coffee.
Let it taste good and have fun baking!
