This saves me thousands of liters of water every year

Each of us has to use the toilet every day and consumes or wastes valuable drinking water, energy and a lot of money just to dispose of our fecal matter!

That does not have to be, because by the following trick one can save itself the use of the toilet flush almost completely.

Use of already used water for toilet flushing:

  • bath water
  • Water from showering and washing hands
  • Water from changing the drinking water from the pet
  • Water from rinsing fruit and pouring cooked pasta or potatoes
  • almost every accumulating residual water

advantages

  • You save water.
  • You save energy for the provision of the same.
  • By using your bath and shower water for toilet flushing, it often smells pleasantly of the shower bath or bath additive used.
  • You quickly develop an awareness of what amounts of water a person consumes.
  • You save tons of money.
  • By saving water and energy, you make a major contribution to environmental protection.

It is really incredible how quickly unbelievable amounts of water are produced in the kitchen and bathroom, which are usually poured into the casting.

The method described here makes it possible to save about 90 or more percent of toilet flushing water without much effort.

Action

When washing hands

  • In the bathroom, I have to see as in the pictures, 2 buckets in my bathtub (or next to it, if this is already filled with residual water).
  • The bucket, which stands diagonally under the tap, absorbs water, for example, from washing hands.
  • From a certain level, this bucket turns straight, so he no longer catches the stream of water from the tap. Now is time to fill this water in the second bucket. If this is full, you can use it to replace the toilet flush.

When washing hair

  • Just hang your head in the tub, place the two buckets in the tub and catch the water from washing your hair as best you can, then use the full buckets to flush the toilet.

While bathing and showering

  • Clearly: Do not drain bath water and shower with plug in tub and scoop up collected water with the bucket and flush it with the toilet.
  • Once bath water in the tub you can even save the effort with the 2 buckets, as you can then simply run, for example, the hand washing water in the tub and later with skim.

In the kitchen

  • Simply place a plastic bowl in the sink, collect the water from the potato or pasta drain, wash hands and water from rinsing off the fruit, then transfer to the buckets in the bath and when flushed, use them for rinsing.

Remaining accumulating residual water

  • This trick can of course be applied to all accumulating water residues that are incurred in the household.

Only downside (which I personally but not as such see)

  • It is associated with a little physical work.
