Thorough cleaning of the detergent compartment of the washing machine
I've had my washing machine for several years now. From the beginning, I always took out the detergent and fabric softener compartment after each wash and rinsed and cleaned the chambers under running water.
For cleaning the narrow gaps in the middle fabric softener compartment (see 1 >) I used a toothbrush. Then I wiped everything dry with a cloth, put the tray back in and left it open overnight. However, I could not reach the gaps between the fabric softener compartment with the toothbrush completely to remove all set remains.
It was not until much later that I discovered that the rear cover in the middle fabric softener compartment can also be folded up (see 2 >), also from this chamber part (see 3 >), in which, over time, all sorts of residues had set, to remove them too thoroughly. I hope that can be seen in the photos!
Since then I do this once a month or every 2 months. I do not know, why I did not discover that earlier?
Maybe some of you have such a washing machine with removable detergent compartment and do not know this trick yet. I would be glad, if I could possibly help with that!
