Thoroughly clean the dishwasher
Cleaning the dishwasher is not done with a bottle of machine cleaner. Such a cure in between is helpful, but the really dirty places are not cleaned by:
If you remove the rubber seals, which are often only pressed, you will wonder what's behind it. I myself was really surprised when I removed it, because I also thought: Regularly a machine cleaner is enough. Unfortunately it is not.
If you want to thoroughly clean the dishwasher, proceed as follows:
- First, the openings of the articulated arms are checked to see if they are all free of crumbs or residues.
- I remove the strainer and the sieve attachment after each wash program and rinse it off under running warm water with a little detergent.
- In a "large cleaning"? I also pull the rubber seals on the bottom of the door: unbelievable, what is behind it, especially in the corners.
- With a flower syringe, filled with simple lye and setting fixed jet, I inject the corners, clean the door rubber under running water and put it back. It is only plugged.
- The bottom edge of the door will not be caught during normal dishwashing or appliance cleaning. Therefore, it is important to spray them regularly.
- It is useful to put a towel on the floor under the door, as the water can run out.
Even the rubber around can be removed, unless it is glued. If it is glued, cleaning is unnecessary.
If the dishwasher has been cleaned so intensively, rinse aid and salt are still filled and a flawless cleaning result is nothing in the way.
A dishwasher always looks clean at first glance, but if you look closely at the seals, corners and edges, you'll be amazed how much more attention it needs.
