Tinnitus noises: Counteract annoying beeping and whistling

Hello, For years I have suffered heavily from a loud tinnitus noise. At my last earache, the doctor and my husband persuaded me to have a hearing test. Since then I carry hearing aids. And I can not understand it, but the tinnitus is gone! I hear the rain on the plants myself.

DirkNB: As a technician, I would say. If the microphone (= eardrum) is no longer receiving enough signal, the following automatic amplifier continues to turn the input sensitivity upwards, so that enough audio signal arrives at the brain. In the process, background noises, "cable noise" and others are amplified more and more (and the amplifier's own noise), so that at some point you only hear false noises. But if enough signal arrives at the ear (amplification through the hearing aid), the automatic amplification behind the ear reverses and the noise and noise disappear.
Only the ear is not a microphone and we have no amplifier behind it. But something is always. ;-)
