Tips for removing tinting film

How do I remove the fastest sunscreen, tint etc. from my car?

Option A:

Step 1: Pull off the sun protection foil in one piece if possible. Now spray the adhesive layer with the glass cleaner and replace the foil.

Step 2: After approx. 15 minutes, remove the foil and remove the adhesive with scraper or planer

Step 3: As a check, if all glue residues are really removed, slightly rub in the glass with alcohol. If there are still glue residues, they turn gray, and can then be wiped off.

Caution: For rear windows with heating wires, the use of a glass slab or glass scraper is not possible. Here, the glue with paper-wrapped plastic squeegee must be removed under great pressure. In this case, the adhesive should be kept constantly wet. If most of the glue is removed, wipe off the rest with spirit soaked paper towels as in point 3.

Variant B: (requires direct sunlight)

Step 1: Spray the sunscreen film with glass cleaner and immediately cover it with plastic wrap (avoid larger air bubbles between the films)

Step 2: Put the vehicle in the sun

Step 3: After about 30 minutes, the glue is softened. After the plastic foil has been removed, the sunscreen is pulled slowly and evenly from the disc. The adhesive remains completely on the old sunscreen.

Step 4: To check the procedure with spirit, as described above

Variant C - this is by far the easiest, fastest and cleanest solution!
