Tips: That's how the Christmas tree lasts longer at Christmas
No matter which kind of tree you choose, they all have one thing in common: the drier they become, the more they need and the shorter their enjoyment of them.
So you should try the tree:
1. Place in a cool place (not directly in front of / next to a radiator) and avoid direct sunlight.
2. Dust the needles with a little water once a day using a spray bottle
3. Put a little sugar or fresh preservative for cut flowers in the tub water (where the stem is).
4. If possible (as in the case of roses) shorten the trunk a little bit (3-5 cm) before placing it in the apartment / house so that it can better absorb the (sugar) water.
Still a little something to buy:
Tree in the net = cat in a poke ... rather buy trees whose texture you can make out before.
A bright cut surface (stem end) indicates a fresh tree strike.
Incidentally, the Nordmann and Nobilist firs are the longest of the common trees (about 5 weeks), while red and blue dens are usually much cheaper, but they also begin to need more sooner.
One last tip:
If possible, do not buy fir trees in stores, but from outdoor suppliers. Firs do not like heat. If the tree is bought earlier than needed, store it in a cool place (preferably terrace or balcony) in the net - the trunk belongs in a bucket.
