Tourist Information - the better guide
Travel guides in book form are a great thing, but the things cost a few euros now. For just a few weeks on vacation, almost too much.
But there is a cheaper way to find out about the holiday destination: Once you have arrived there, you look for a tourist information. They are usually close to airports, railway stations, in the city center or at / in the town hall.
There you get mostly free information material, city maps and friendly information about sights, good and cheap restaurants and insider tips on how to get low on event, bus or other tickets.
