Underlay for planting and repotting

Not everyone has a (large) garden with suitable places where he can plant and repot plants and where it does not matter if he throws so much with the garden soil ;-) My tip is so suitable for balcony and terrace, which should remain reasonably clean and where the plants are (are), so no big Schlepperei from Hüh to Hott - if the time of the potting:

Simply take a discarded oilcloth tablecloth as a base and, as far as possible, spread out wrinkle-free under the tools (pots, utensils, soil, sand, etc.). The blanket is quite heavy and remains smooth after work, when it is swept away, and thus the earth is easy to cast off.

Paper dodges quickly and tears, old shower curtains are also suitable - although not as good as oilcloth and the plant table praised by many is often too small or must first be cleared away. Most of the time I shake the remaining potting soil out of the usually perforated bag into the ceiling, press it into an empty bucket and have new soil ready for the next repotting.

Since I also scrapped round oilcloth covers from garden tables, I use this as a catcher under the boxwood cutting. For this I cut through the circle to the middle, put the now in one place open tablecloth around the tree (possibly even a small circle in the middle cut) and push the edge of the ceiling a bit high - possibly with a little clothes pegs.

Afterwards everything is quickly cleared away and the floors stay clean.
