Unwrap wool sweater - 5 methods | TheFruitAndFlowerBasket TV

I like to wear sweaters and hoods made of wool. Although this material endures quite a bit and is durable, it tends to fuzz especially with high wool content. But it really pays off to bother to liberate these garments from the lint and not immediately dispose of them.

To remove the lint, I tried 5 items:

1. Lint Remover

The lazy razor has the advantage that the tissue is guaranteed not to be damaged and it removes the lint easily and cleanly. However, you can only work on a small area piece by piece. With it you also shave very gently the embroidery, as shown in this costume knit vest in the video.

Lint remover / shaver is e.g. here online in the offer.

2nd comb

With the comb, the lint can be removed surprisingly well. However, you can easily draw a thread with it.

3 clothes brush

With the clothes brush you can immediately brush off a larger area and that actually works quite well. It not only removes the lint, but also animal hair from the tissue. Damage to the garment is also excluded here. However, it requires a bit of physical effort and you can already start to sweat.

4. disposable razor

The shaving of the wool lint with a disposable razor is quick and the surface of the garment is lint free again. However, a superficial damage of the thread is not excluded here. In my experiment, I was able to detect small cuts in the tissue, ie the wool thread. Do not use on coarse mesh, embroidery, and curved patterns, or on button patterns.

5. Scissors

With the scissors, the very large lint can be easily removed, as well as shorten the shaggy lint on the edge. But you should be careful, because a wool thread is severed quickly. For the treatment of a larger area, it is rather impractical.

Of course, with most of the items shown here, you can also lend clothing from other materials lint. Personally, I find the combination of the items shown very useful and I hope with my tip, they enjoy their woolen garments for a very long time.

PS: In order to minimize linting in the first place, there is even a special wool detergent that suppresses linting. Also, wool garments do not belong in the dryer. It is best to put a bath towel over the drying rack and on it spreads, for example, the sweater to dry.
