Upcycling: jewelry from crayon remains

Who has schoolchildren, has colored pencil stub. Just throw it away? No, because you can make nice things like earrings or chains.

Do you know that? The pencil case from the child is brought to Fordermann and replaced all ministummel with new crayons. All sorts of mini-pencils remain. From these remnants I made ear piercing and a chain. For the chain, sharpen four stubs in different colors and cut to the same length with the saw. Use the drill to drill small holes through the colored pencils and thread the sharpened stubs onto a chain. The drilling is a bit tricky. Do not make the crayons too short so that they can still hold the pens well with one hand while drilling.

For the earrings, I sawed off small slices from the crayon residues. The surfaces are sanded smooth after sawing with sandpaper. These colored pencil discs are glued to the ear plug blanks with the hot glue gun. Done is the original jewelry. From Buntstiftresten you can also make great coasters. For this purpose, however, more crayon remains are needed. Glue the remainders round and in the shape and size of a coaster and allow to dry. Then saw off the glued bunch of slices and sand with sandpaper.

This is needed:

  • Crayon stubs
  • Studs blanks or chain to thread
  • saw
  • sandpaper
  • drilling machine
  • drill
